I want SUMMER!!!

I was driving along Oriental Parade today in the pouring rain, and I couldn't help remember the fun I've had there in the summer. Going to the Beach Volleyball with Stephanie last and winning a bag of chips with my orsum volleyball skills, going again this year with Steph, Cassie, Esther, Susan and Britt, and getting a look at the first-aid skills. We went to the Parade Cafe to get a hot drink we were so cold, today. In the Summer we went there and had a food fight with chips, who remembers that? Also when sum of the youth gruop galls went to the beach there with Diana. I was late coz I had volleyball trials, but it was still real fun. And when we went to the Parade Cafe after Church and someone, I can't remember who, put ice down Cassie's back. Good times.
But then, when we went there today, it was rainy and dreary and cold. It wasn't fun, carefree, or as amazing as it does in the summer.
That's just life, you have to take the good with the bad, summer with winter. But God is always there for us, although sometimes it doesn't feel like it. In a way it's like God is the sea at Oriental Parade. He is way to huge, deep, engulfing for us to ever come close to imagining, yet he is reight there next to us all the time. No matter whether its hot and sunny, or cold and raining, the sea is always at Oriental Parade. And no matter whether we're going through good times or bad, God is always there. And whether we want a pick me up or a celebration, we can have it at God's Parade Cafe, Church. I know this is cheezy, but I like looking at things in a metaphorical (or are they similes? who really cares...) way, even though nothing in this world can ever compare to God.

The GO Concert!

On Sunday the 31 August 2008 (ooh, fancy date) we had the GO Concert at church. Eds (Edwin Derricutt) opened for Lucas Parry, and it was a really orsum night. It was Eds' second time performing at All Saints, the last time was the day before my birthday, the 2nd March. (Incidentally, today is my half-birthday, 6months since and till my birthday. Yes, I give you permission to give me chocolate, lol) It was great to have him back, and he's still as orsum as ever. This time even Crunch could tell that he wasn't wearing eyeliner, something she doubted very much last time; she was convinced he was. (emo). It was Lucas' first time here and he was really orsum, even if he is Auzzie and living in America. He was real funny and a good speaker. In one of his songs he got two people up to help lead 'moshing'. Snusan and this guy Philip were the lucky people, and Philip was pretty orsum. Susan was bright red though ... We helped set up beforehand, and me, Cassie and Susan were on Tickets. That was pretty exciting. Also, Esther brought along her friend Stacey, which was pretty orsum. Eds and Lucas like us. Coz we're orsum. Diana found Lucas' order of service sheet and gave it to me, so I got his autograph, and its going up on my wall next to the autographs of Eds, Huggies, some of the Pulse, the Lads, Phono, and my newest aquisition, a silver ferns. And Pictures of Mr Bean. Spe-cial. Yeah, ti was really orsum night, and I hope we can have another one soon. Thanks Ben for organising it, it was great.
